BORN TO CELEBRATE HISTORY AND TRADITION
When it comes to Gin, there is one thing that comes to mind: Harry’s Bar’s most famous cocktail after the Bellini. The Montgomery. Exquisitely dry. This is the secret of this cocktail just as the man who invented it Ernest Hemingway, wanted it.
Crafted in England, this exquisite Gin pays homage to the veteran bartender of Harry’s Bar and its rich history, which includes sharing their mixology artistry with the likes of famous patrons, such as Ernest Hemingway. With its classic London Dry style, Cipriani London Dry Gin is a perfect blend of juniper, with a light citrus note and mild pepper, providing a smooth and refined taste that embodies the Cipriani heritage.

Smooth and refined taste
The Montgomery cocktail is more than a just simple cocktail, it is the legacy Ernest Hemingway has given to the world of Mixology. When he visited Harry’s Bar, the writer used to order a Dry Martini with a slightly modified recipe, yet with precise proportions. “He preferred that the Vermouth is respect to the Gin, not exceed a proportion of one to fifteen. The same proportion – Hemingway would say – with which the famous English General Montgomery was fighting his battles during the Second World War: fifteen of his soldiers against each of his enemies” (source: “Harry’s Bar Venezia, Le Ricette della Tradizione” Arrigo Cipriani).
“In the beginning, there were gin, whiskey, rum, and cognac. These were the four things that should never been mixed together. Then there were the other things like vermouth, liqueurs, sugar, and lemon. They were meant for the glory of the first four components of the Universe.”
